- Sodium: Cottage cheese carries 700–900mg per cup; Greek yogurt carries 90–100mg. That's a 7-10x gap. For most active people the cottage cheese number is fine (the body needs sodium, and people who train regularly often need more, not less). For people on blood-pressure medication or with specifically diagnosed sodium sensitivity, it's a real consideration. Greek yogurt is smooth, tangy, and uniform in texture. It plays well in:

Daily breakfast or snack protein anchor: Either works. Pick the texture you enjoy. Greek yogurt is easier as a grab-and-eat single-cup serving; cottage cheese tends to want a slight assembly step (a pinch of pepper, a squeeze of lemon, a few tomatoes) to be palatable as a standalone.
